
Food and Beverage Manager
Timbers Kiawah is seeking a motivated and charismatic Food and Beverage Manager to join our team. The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the overall management of all food and beverage operations at the Beach Club including restaurant dining, bar service, poolside and beach side service, and special events. This role ensures high-quality service, smooth day-to-day operations, and an exceptional guest experience aligned with the relaxed, upscale atmosphere of a private Beach Club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all food and beverage outlets, including the main restaurant, bar, poolside service, beach service, and club events.
- Recruit, train, and manage F&B staff to deliver warm, attentive, and professional service in a beachside environment.
- Work closely with the Lead Cook to develop seasonal menus and ensure consistency in food presentation and quality.
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and receiving to maintain cost control and minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings and maintain a visible, hands-on presence during peak times.
- Manage the scheduling of staff to ensure appropriate coverage during high-volume periods.
- Handle member and guest feedback professionally and proactively resolve complaints.
- Collaborate with the events team to execute private parties, themed nights, and club-wide functions.
- Track and report on food and beverage revenues, labor costs, and expenses to meet financial targets.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of F&B management experience in a hospitality, resort, or private club setting (beach club or coastal property preferred).
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a passion for hospitality.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of POS systems, inventory software, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with beachside or outdoor dining operations, including weather contingencies and guest flow management.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and extended summer hours.
Preferred Certifications:
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
- Responsible Beverage Service Certification (as required by state/local laws)
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility to work in a food service setting, use standard kitchen equipment; stamina to stand for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and computer screen; dexterity to utilize computer equipment; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
