Position Overview
The Captiva Landing Supervisor oversees daily operations for Flippers, the resort’s poolside quick-service restaurant, as well as recreation programming and activities within the Captiva Landing area. This role ensures seamless service, engaging activities, and exceptional guest experiences across one of South Seas’ most vibrant guest hubs.
This hands-on leadership position supervises front-of-house restaurant operations, poolside dining and cabana service, and recreation programming including guest activities and Camptiva kids programming. The Captiva Landing Supervisor works closely with both Food & Beverage and Recreation leadership to maintain service excellence, operational efficiency, and safety standards while creating memorable experiences for guests and families.
This role is ideal for an energetic hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced outdoor resort environment and enjoys leading teams while interacting with guests.
Key Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Operations – Flippers
- Assist in leading front-of-house operations for Flippers poolside quick-service restaurant, including dining areas, poolside service, lounges, and cabanas.
- Ensure service standards are executed consistently and guests receive exceptional hospitality.
- Support daily restaurant operations including staffing coordination, service flow, and guest satisfaction monitoring.
- Assist with maintaining food safety, sanitation, and beverage service standards.
- Monitor guest feedback and resolve service issues promptly to maintain high guest satisfaction.
- Support monitoring of food, beverage, and labor costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and purchasing coordination with the Purchasing Department.
- Uphold and maintain the integrity of South Seas’ food & beverage concepts and brand standards.
Recreation & Activities Operations – Captiva Landing
- Assist in supervising daily recreation activities and programming within Captiva Landing.
- Support scheduled guest activities including games, crafts, themed events, movie nights, karaoke, and family programming.
- Assist with oversight of Camptiva kids programming, ensuring activities are safe, engaging, and age-appropriate.
- Ensure activity spaces and recreational areas are organized, clean, and aligned with resort presentation standards.
- Maintain daily activity schedules and ensure programming is clearly communicated to guests.
- Supervise recreation attendants and camp counselors to ensure high-quality guest experiences.
- Assist with special events and seasonal programming within the Captiva Landing area.
Guest Experience & Team Leadership
- Provide outstanding guest service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
- Maintain high visibility within Captiva Landing to support both restaurant service and recreation activities.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and coaching team members to deliver exceptional service.
- Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate operational priorities and daily programming.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
- Collaborate with departments including Housekeeping, Security, Guest Services, and Food & Beverage to ensure seamless operations.
Operational Excellence & Safety
- Ensure compliance with resort policies, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of recreation spaces, restaurant areas, and equipment.
- Monitor recreational equipment and report maintenance needs as necessary.
- Assist with incident reporting and operational documentation.
- Ensure all guest-facing areas remain safe, clean, and welcoming.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a fast-paced resort environment.
- Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain service standards.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Position Requirements
- 1+ year supervisory experience in Food & Beverage within a hotel or resort environment required
- Experience hiring, training, and developing team members preferred.
- Quick-service restaurant (QSR) and outdoor dining experience preferred
- Experience in recreation, activities programming, or family programming is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office.
Compliance Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required (motor vehicle background check will be completed).
- Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State of Florida regulations).
- Food Handler Certification (must comply with State regulations).
- Must be 18 years or older to serve/sell alcohol in the State of Florida
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor resort environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat and humidity.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on resort operations.
Pay Rate: $25/hr, Full-time
Schedule: Flexible, may include weekend shifts
